not to exactly answer your question but it did make me think. When I first got out how hard it was for me to talk. I felt stupid for a while because I didn't know how to have a conversation that didn't revolve around JW crap. When I was IN yes "normal" conversation made me uncomfortable because I was not told what to think about the topic

info on new schools!
by seenitall ininformation about four theocratic schools.
starting september 1, 2011, each year at patterson there will be 2 classes of the school for branch committee members and 2 classes of the school for traveling overseers.
branch committee members who have previously attended the branch committee school will be invited to attend a second time.

They have to do something with the Bethelites they fired. under 50 wow! isn't bethel under 35 and Gillied under 40? I guess they just don't have as many young ones wanting to reach out! special schools make them feel even more superior...

When did you stop supporting the WT with $$$ ??
by wobble ini stopped whilst still an active witness, just cancelled my direct debit and told myself i would put money in the box to cover things like literatrash and heat and light sometimes, and sometimes i did , but that dropped off.. the thing is, i cannot really pin down what my motive was at the time, i still thought then that it was god's org.. but i just stopped giving them money.
why ?
i dunno.. when and why did you stop giving them money ?.

I gave when I was so poor I had holes in my boots and frost bite, and regular pioneered... the last time i donated was when I left we have a small hall and I'm sure they miss my $ more then me

Top 10 reasons why JWs don't have the truth - please contribute
by oldlightnewshite ini thought it would be an interesting exercise to ask everybody on here what their 'top 10 reasons why jws don't have the truth' actually were.
maybe we can see some correlating views/patterns/ideas that may help us de-programme the newbies that come on this site.
if eventually most people have an outstanding gripe/concern it'll help everybody understand the ex-jw mindset a little better.

2) The Military exemption certificates that the brethren in Mexico were allowed to buy
3) the fact that I didn't know so much about the JW's untill I left - they hide there mistakes
4) The ban on organ transplants
5) The Blood ban that has seen thousands worldwide die - there rules have KILLED and they take no responsability for it
6) The way they treat DF'ed people and worldly people
7) elders thinking they can make personal decisions for grown adults
8) they don't know what love is
9) the overlapping generation new light
10) they think they are God's chosen ones

how many in your cong had nervous breakdowns?
by highdose inof the congregation i spent my life in i would say a good 75% had nervous breakdowns at some point.
and often there was never really a obivous reason for it.
well not that we jw's could understand at the time.. even the queen bee's/ elderettes were not immune to this.. what about you?.

I don't know if I had a nervous breakdown cuz I never recieved perfesional help to tell me I did, but I'd say I had at least 3 ALL do to jW stress! I'm sure the congregations think that is why i haven't come back. They don't realized I'm so much mentally healthy NOW!! they were the problem not me all along

I had to waite for my husband while he was on a job interview. I sat for an hour or two and just watched gold fish in this small outside pond. It hit me how wonderful God is to create this and how small the JW world is... That was the start of me living my life and not thinking I had to answer to them...

At what age should women stop wearing tight jeans!?

walking ahead of me is this woman with a really nice butt in really tight jeans, small waist, nice hair.
(yes, guys, even us women notice other women's butts:-) she stops at the dairy section, turns around and i swear she is 60 if not older!

it's not age it's if you look good. There are 15 year olds that are too fat to wear them and 80 year olds that would look cute.... my thoughts. that goes for men or women

by minimus inand that's why they are in the religion?.
i recall many jws over the years who were what i'll call "weird"---and looking back at it, many witnesses are "odd" and "different"..

I WAS depressed and thought, and was told, by my EX that i was bipolar.... funny thing is since I left, becides PMS I'm extreamlly happy and don't feel any mental problems!

Has anyone successfully faded without moving out of the territory?
by NiceDream inso far i've managed to avoid speaking to the elders who drop by.
just wondering if they'll eventually give up in a couple years.
anyone have experience with this?.

so far so good for me. 2 years out. They tried to find reasons to Df me because I show up at weddings and partys when it is by someone that treats me like a human and I want to go. When I gave the "I'll sue" if you continue to harrass me they left me alone. I think they are just pissed that they didn't DF me when they had a chance - public humiliation, reproof- now I am happy, don't go to meetings, married a worldly man and if I decide to decorate I'll use my husband can decorate his house any way he wants response. you can fade just don't talk much. One elder asked why I stopped and I said I don't feel like the congregation cares about me and want friends that do. only 1 of 100 reasons but that is all I will ever say to any of them. The congregation was rude to me so they don't have anything to say.
